The Edith Winthrop Teacher Center of Westchester is a consortium of eight public school districts: Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Elmsford, Greenburgh Central School District, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington Union Free School District The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns, and Greenburgh Eleven, a Special Acts School District which serves The Children’s Village.
These school districts have joined together in a consortium that serves as a unique model. Although there are distinctions among the districts' we share a common goal which is to strengthen instruction and raise student achievement. As a result, teachers need to be provided with the content area and pedagogy skills to meet the challenges and demands of twenty-first century education. It is the job of the Teacher Center to support this endeavor.
